Everybody has that alter ego, that Mr. Hyde, so to speak. In Rich Matz' case, that would be Prehensile Tale. Since the mid-eighties, in one form or another, Prehensile Tale has been Rich's vehicle for that hard-driving, take out your frustrations sound. The original material can be complex with many changes or simple and to the point, but almost always with that cutting edge. Song writer, vocalist and lead guitarist Rich Matz and bassist Jim Jarvis have been with the band since it's inception. Drummer Timur Bulut has been on board for over 10 years and his brother Noyan Bulut joined as rhythm guitarist in 1998. The band has two releases to date, the self titled C.D. released in 1996 and "Tall Tails", released March 1st 2003. In addition to their original music, the band also fills in with select cover material. Their main influences would be the likes of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Humble Pie and U.F.O., but unexpected covers of Fleetwood Mac, P.J. Harvey, Foo Fighters and Rory Gallagher can be heard as well.
